Over 80 Years of History

Origins

Cardiology Associates of New Brunswick is one of the oldest cardiology practices in New Jersey. Founded in 1938 in New Brunswick by Dr. Norman Reitman, the practice has grown steadily over the decades and eventually moved to East Brunswick.  In 2019, it merged with Heart Health Specialists of Edison, which has its own long and distinguished history.

A modern approach

We are now eleven physicians, six advanced nurse practitioners and many wonderful and enthusiastic staff members. All of our physicians are board certified, many in several areas of cardiology, and many have received formal recognition from their peers for providing high quality care.

Our testing facilities are state of the art, have undergone rigorous evaluations by national accreditation societies and received numerous, prestigious certifications.

Our practice is a part of the RWJBarnabas Health System, the leading academic health system in New Jersey. This affiliation enables us to bring expertise and cutting edge technology in cardiology and other specialties to your care.

"I decided I wanted to be a doctor when I was ten years old."

Dr. Norman Reitman, who founded our practice in 1938, decided on his career path as a young child. The year was 1919, his brother was home with a high fever and cough, and his parents were scared. Their doctor made an evening house call and, with a few calming words, reassured his parents that all would be fine. In that brief moment, a very young Norman Reitman learned the power of compassionate medical care.
